Question about an accessory for a bike?

Is there a such thing as an adult carrier for a bike?

This might be a dumb question but here is why I asked, my uncle comes to stay with us sometimes and he is mentally challenged. He LOVES to go for rides and go places but sometimes we cant afford the gas for the whole time he stays, instead of him staying in the house all the time, it would be nice if I could take him for a bike ride or something, he cant ride one on his own and he wouldnt be able to do it even with training wheels so that isnt an option. He isn't very good on his feet so he probably wouldn't like to walk to places, so I was wondering, you know how they have those kid carriers? Not the ones directly on the back of the bike but the ones that sit on the ground, and drag behind the bike, do they have those for adults? Thanks for any help you can give!!! I've asked this question before and got no answers! please help!

I've never heard of that, but you could try a tandem bicycle. The only thing if moves around he could make you crash.

I know they have the rickshaw or pedicab bikes for sale, those are the ones you see at touristy places. Some have the passengers in the front others have the "driver" up front.

Also look into mulitpassenger bikes or even adult trikes. Source(s): http://www.bikeforall.net/linkcat.php?ci...

I don't know, but you could call a bike shop and ask or try a medical supply place, they may be able to direct you to somewhere, or a physical therapy place may know. Would a bicycle built for two work?
I have never seen one made for an adult. Your best bet is probably look at a few in person in your local bike shops to see if they are big enough and strong enough for your uncle. Good luck!
