Everywhere I can go is to far to walk or ride a bike! I HATE IT! I can't drive, but I'm old enough to! Help? |
So, everything from my house, even school, someone has to drive to get to! Everything's too far away to even ride a bike and I've done it and it takes hours! It's so annoying! I'm not kidding!!! So, Since last July, I've been asking my dad to PLEASE start teaching me b/c we can't afford someone else teaching me even though I'd already been done with that by now!!! OK, even the nerdy ppl at my school already have their permits or licenses and THERE I AM! SINGLED OUT AGAIN! OK, I love my parents, I do! BUT COME ON! I get so resentful whenever THEY have to take me somewhere and I know I could already be doing this myself and then I get mad and then I get mad at myself for getting mad, then I can't go........ I've always handled responsibility well, but whenever I don't get responsibilities or something someone can hold me accountable for, I GO INSANE! I don't want someone to drive me somewhere all the time! I want my own responsibilities, and it's like coming of age.. geez Do you have a job? Driving a car is more than putting in a key and going. There is buying a car, insuring the car, putting gas in the car, repairing the car. All cost money. If you get a job, this will let your parents know you are responsible to get your license and drive. If you are as responsible as you say, then I don't see any reason for your parents to not allow you to at least get a permit so you can start learning, but that is their choice. Do your best to show that you are responsible and that you want to drive. It is hard to rely on someone else. Has your parents started teaching you to drive yet? Have you tried talking to them? Your parents are trying to protect you, I know that sounds like an old cliche but it is true. At 16 you feel you are already grown up and want to be on your own and in some ways you are a responsible young person just don't be too impatient. The most important thing for you right now is to get good grades in school and prove to your parents that you are a responsible teenager and please don't rebel that is only going to show them that you are not really mature enough yet. Hang in there things will turn around for you soon enough. Don't allow your peers to make you feel left out. Ask them over to your house to watch movies or play games. |
