Mixed breed puppy that has shown signs of aggression. We have young kids-Is it best to give it away? |
My husband got this puppy without consulting me and we have a 6 month old and a 2 year old. He got it from a friend. The mother he thinks was a lab mix. The dad-completely unkown. The puppy is about 31/2 months old and has recently started being aggressive. It attached my in-laws pomeranian when he tried to take a rawhide from him. He chases cats, has growled at the neighbors dog, chased after a full grown boxer w/ the hair standing up on his back. He's growled and barked at people passing on bikes while we've been at the park. He growled at me when I twirled in a dress. He nipped at my husband when he's tried to catch him. For the most part he seems friendly, but I'm worried he's going to hurt one of the kids if they accidently get to rough or get near him while he is eating. My husband refuses to believe that would happen, but he has never really had a dog, except for the one I've had since before we met. We cant afford to get it professional training. Any advice Get rid of it. you need to give it away Why would one ever consider risking their children, to any degree, over a flipping dog? Make sure he's getting enough exercise. You need to establish dominance with the dog. the dog whisperer seriously, rent a season of it from blockbuster that guy is great give it away if its showing aggression at such a young age image when it gets older a lab is a gentle breed so it must be mixed with a more aggressive breed. I cannot even imagine why you are even asking the question. Is the dog more important that your children? I mean it doenst take a rocket scientist to know that sooner or later that dog will bite the children. Lets get real here you actually have to get approval from your husband to get rid of the dog because you are afraid that he might get angry? Come on woman we are talking about your children. Get rid of the mutt for crying out loud!!!!! |
