ok need some new ideas here that I can try -- have a 96 Contour that I never had the Trunk key for -- but it opened with the pull latch/lever beside the seat . Had a kids bike in there one day and a bungee cord holding it closed -- took the bike out and i am not sure if I removed the bungee from the latch --- the next day the trunk wouldn't open --- Checked fuse panel -- there is no fuse for the trunk latch --- and when I pull the lever from inside by the seat I can hear a click in the trunk but it will not open --- also, the trunk lock itself, ( when you use the key) looks partially broken. Do you think the bungee is jammed in and that's why it is not opening, or is there some other problem with contours? any suggestions? ( i don't have a ton of $ to take it in to someone!

try having someone pull it open while you pull the lever,and yes,if the bungee is stuck in there it might take a little gumption to get it open |
