Cleaning tip for MOLD/MILDEW ON FABRIC? |
I just bought a used Safety 1st Kids bike trailer. You know the kind the kids sit in that hook up to the back of the bike. Well I bought it really cheap because it had mold/mildew on it. I called my mom and she told me how to take it out. Believe me I tried almost everything before I called her. Okay so you can either use bleach or Lemon Juice. Bleach for whites and colors that won't bleed or be ruined by bleach and lemon juice for color clothes that will be ruined by bleach. All you do is apply it to the mold and let the item sit directly in the sun. The bleach will work in just a few minutes. Make sure the mold/mildew is directly in the sun. well thats it. Then just wash in the washer or wipe clean. I couldn't believe it. It looks brand new. Hope this helps someone out there. Let me know your results Good ol Mom, next time call her 1st!!! Well, your Moms right about the lemon juice and bleach, but if you check out Home Depot, the cleaning supply aisle, they have some great products for mildew there. yes very good tip , it麓s true what they say , a girl麓s best friend is her mum. I not to sure about the bleach part , as it only works for a short time using bleach ,The sun does kill of the mildew first then adding lemon juice and leaving to dry in the sun , but not going to argue with your mum. Thanks I used to pick up a lot of used strollers and clean them and give them to the local planned parenthood type place for young teen mothers--OxyClean also works great., Make a paste out of it and let it sit and then wash in hottest water it will handle! |
