If you were issued a bike? |
or one of them Chinese type pedal powerd taxi's( i forget what they are called) for people with kids, would you use them or would you still rather drive everywhere? I don't have a driver's license so I do practically everything by bike as it is anyway. I'd bike everywhere if I didn't live so far from work. I currently drive until I'm a half hour from work, then get a bike out of the boot. It's one problem wanting to live in the countryside. Drive.. I didn't pass my driving test to walk or cycle everywhere. I would ride everywhere except it is not practical for work as I work over twenty five miles away, but at the moment I walk all local journeys. What I do not understand is driving to gym and then getting on the running machine or fitness bike (is it me or would it not save money just going for a ride/run). I would use it if everyone else was. I wouldnt get a bike at the moment as there are too many cars on the road and i wouldnt feel safe. If there were more cycle lanes then i would definately use a bike more often (dont own one at the moment) I'd consider it certainly. However, i live in a wee village in the middle of the countryside. We cycle for pleasure almost everyday (a bit of a challenge when I'm 8 and a ahlf months pregnant!) but we have to use the bus or car to get into town for shopping and work. Also, I'd have to consider it rather than say Yes outright, as I'm petrified of cycling on roads. I have rarely cycled on a road with cars on it, and cycling through town (with one 100yard cycle lane going into town) seems absolutly terrifying! The town used to be a market town, therefore there is barely enough room for cars to drive on most roads, let alone a car and a bike, lol. i will not give up my car for anyone. |
