Can I get him back??? |
my dog is a german shepard/lab mix.and about 2 days ago,someone knocked at my front door.and of course,i answered it,and my dog Jack slipped out right passed me.he saw some kids riding there bikes down the street so he ran towards them,he didnt hurt them though.well the kids jumped off of their bikes and were laughing.well i finally caught jack and brought him inside and scolded him.well that kids' parent came down to my house and said that Jack had bitten his kid in the butt.he didnt though,i was watching him the whole time.so i looked at the kids butt, and there were 3 marks, all in a straight line. and they looked like old wounds. they were already scabbing over.so they called animal control, and i surrendured jack over to them because this is the 2nd time this has happened and i dont want to risk it a 3rd time.someone could be killed or hurt if he does this again.but i made a terrible mistake and i want him back.he is being put to sleep in 10 days.is thre anyway i can get him back? Go to the animal control and place a adoption for him adopt him back !!!! or go to police Have you tried contacting animal control and trying to adopt him back - I think that would be your best bet. Sorry this happened. :( Contact a lawyer and force proof that Jack did bite him. Children do lie at times you know. But without this intervention, Jack is likely to be put to sleep. Measure Jacks teeth length and width to have for the lawyer so he can see if the marks match You poor thing! And poor Jack! Ask for help - your parents, your friends, your co-workers, whatever - and go and get your dog back. If those people have formally complained, you will probably have to pay a fine - and you'll have to get a muzzle for your dog. Don't take chances anymore - muzzle him! Then you won't be put in this situation ever again. They can't put your dog down unless charges have been laid, and a judge has ruled against you and Jack. Go and get your dog back. Oh my word! Old cut...scabes...Did you mention that to animal control...probably kids that don't like your dog., stirring up problems. I feel bad for you!!! I HAD A GERMAN-LAB MIX AND THEY USUALLY DON'T REACT UNLESS PREVOKED FIGHT FOR YOUR JACK....I CAN'T BELEIVE THIS!!! You need to contact the Animal ctrl office and see what you need to do to get your animal back. You may have to jump through some significant hoops and are also subject to some liability if your dog has a prior history of biting. It may require your local city/county council intervention. IF you get your dog back maybe you should seriously consider putting your dog on a leash prior to answering the door. Fence your yard and put up a sign ("Beware of Dog" or similar). You would be smart too to make sure you have documentation of current vacinations in case he bites again. If the wound was scabbed over evidently this didn't just happen as you stated.I would seek an attorney on this one,but if your dog actually bit the child,he would certainly need to be contained.Sometimes children will tell untruths especially if they know Moms don't want them in certain places.Would try and talk to the animal control and explain about the wound being scabbed over when this was suppose to have just happened. |
