My boyfriend got a call from the police about a hit and run?

My boyfriend drives his mothers car every once in a while, and one day when he was on his way to the bank, he was waiting at a red light, completely stopped, when he heard a bump. He looked in all the mirrors and didn't see anything strange. All he saw was a kid on his bike, sort of close to the car, but he was sitting up and was acting normal. So he started to drive and when he reached the next red light a man pulled up next to him and started yelling saying "THAT WAS A HIT AND RUN, I'M GOING TO REPORT YOU!" and drove off.

My boyfriend stayed calm and on his way to the bank he stopped at my house to talk to me about it. We looked at the car and the only scrape we found was a small one above the front passenger side door handle. It's about the size of a quarter.

It's about a week later. I always go to work with my boyfriend when I can, and he just came up to me and told me that he got a call from home saying that the cops called.

I was just wondering, what did he do wrong?

I don't think a hit and run like that counts as a crime, if you called the cops each time some kid hit your car with a bike the police wouldn't stop getting calls. That's really stupid. If the police followup your boyfriend should just say that the person the bike drove away so he thought everything was fine. Not that it even matters, if a bike hits a stopped car the biker is at fault. Source(s): Common Sense
