How are police kept from breaking laws themselves? |
today I saw a cop totally speed through a stop sign and almost hit a kid on his bike. cops shoulden't be immune to the laws how are they kept in line.... or are they not? You are right. Cops should not be above the law, and they technically are not. Unfortunately, there are bad cops and good cops. Bad cops know they have more latitude than regular citizens and abuse it. When it gets found out, it generally ends their career and may lead to some serious jail time. In general, though, most cops are trying to the right thing. But they're just like the rest of us -- making mistakes, breaking rules, feeling guilty, etc. In addition to the regular laws that we all abide by, they have Internal Affairs which can and does investigate police activity. Just my 2 cents they do you just dont hear about it Have him reported to "Internal Affairs" at state level. <l:})-[* Sometimes they are caught by an honest cop. Cops get in trouble all the time....sometimes more and deeper than the average citizen. Not only should they NOT be immune, they should set the example for the rest of us They are being constantly watched on hidden cams themselves 2 make sure it doesnt happen cause no one likes dirty cops |
