Why don't White people stop claiming that all Black people are criminals? |
That is a total lie. Most Black people would like the crime to stop because we are usually always the victims. Most Black people that I see and know are hard-working, law-abiding citizens. I look around to see all these Black criminals that Whites speak about. What I see is mothers walking there kids to school. People carrying groceries. Fathers teaching their kids to ride a bike or skate. I see a parent wiping a kids nose. I see young people who hold a door open for someone elderly or for a person carrying a baby. I see people going to the polls to vote for whoever can stop the violence. I hear of the crime but for the most part, Black people are not bad people. We are terrorfied of becoming statistics. Most of us are caught up in a lie perpetuated by "the man" that keeps a race war rearing it's ugly head. THERE IS NO REAL RACE WAR, IT IS A CLASS WAR!! And we are all losing while the rich man on top gets richer. I believe the media helps perpetuate these beliefs also by highlighting black-crime. It is not fair, I agree. Not all whites do this, but a lot do. But Blacks also say bad things about whites and other ppl... just like all races. It is sad, but true. Every race talks crap about another. I don't see it ever changing. You are confused about this... Not all white people say this. I certainly dont. However, if you look at the majority of prison populace, that is where people get the idea you speak of. Why don't Black people stop making generalizations about White people? i know sister, why da white man tryin to keep da blak man down? Not all white people think that all black people are criminals. That statement is very generalized. There are good and bad people in all races & most of us want the violence & crime to stop. Unfortunately, it's this attitude and mentality that keeps racism alive and kicking. It's very sad. It's sad isn't it? We call ourselves progressive, accepting, even tolerant. And then someone asks a question like this and it makes us all realize, you're right! It all comes down to perception and those who watch their local news. Of course black people aren't always the ones who are criminals. But if you get it built up in your mind, by watching television, by reading the newspaper and such, you will begin to believe that it is so. People who think that only black people are criminals need to turn off their televisions and go live in the world. Not just become lemmings of the media. I'm sorry you feel that way - and I'm sorry there are people out there who think that way. |
