Where would you rather have been brought up? |
Given the choice!! From a kids point of view but on an adults head!.... In an area where there are quite a few children, similar ages to you, go to school with you, but also older kids, so you can ride bikes and play footy ect OR an area made up of mostly quiet, elderly people, where you can't ride bike or play games outside but has advantage of no older kids, no trouble ect ?? Am in predicament, have 3 very bored lonely children as live in very quiet area with no other kids around, have chance to move to busy area, same town, with school friends but also lots older kids too!!!!!! In all honesty I would say move because your kids obviously need the company and old people as lovely as they are do not prove the best company for a child. Trouble is part of life I am afraid and you have to equip your children with ways to deal and manage it. You can't shy away from it forever unfortunately so I guess the earlier they learn to deal with it and stand up for themselves etc the better. Go for the move, give the kids the chance to learn things on their own. they need to have their own life experiences and to be able to make the decision "should I get in that car of older kids, or is that a bad decision?" I'm in the same boat right now. We're looking to move to an area with more children. Our children will always be faced with bad influences.. it's up to us to educate them, without depriving them I like the quiet area. I was raised in a combination of both. We were in a neighborhood of mostly older people, but activities occurred in the other community where that other scenario (lots of kids, etc.). Also, we could ride our bikes and play outside fine -it's really unruly kids that the elderly mostly have problems with anyway. My parents made sure we were in many activities so we got the best of both worlds. Hopefully, you live fairly close to where the activity goes on. Regardless, your children can always form lasting friendships with those children that they attend school with. I'd want to grow up with quite a few children, you learn more. Being stuck in the house with no other kids is not good for kids, I think. Where would you rather have been brought up ? Rather than the USA and Texas at the edge of the country and yet at the advantage of a place like Dallas ? You've got to be kidding !! Get to a place where these kids can have time away from the madness OF the social garbage and yet have the interaction OF the socialization nearby !! Look for this -- and it is surely to be found somewhere nearby !! |
