New Neighborhood(problems)- Help!!!? |
My Bro & I just moved to a new neighborhood. My Bro is 21 & he looks extremely young. He decided to take a cruise on his bike down the street. A kid also riding his bike passed by my Bro so my Bro was friendly and just said, "hey, what's up." Then, the kid & him start talking & and says he just moved her too. The kid eventually asks how old my Bro is. My Bro said that he was 15 because he was way too embarrassed to actually say he was 21. Anyways, now the kid wants to hang out with my Bro ALL the time & he really is a nice kid, but my Bro doesn't want to start a friendship with him because of his immaturity level and such. Now this kid is really desperate for friends and wants to hang out AGAIN tomorrow. My Bro doesn't want to tell him the truth because it's humiliating and this kid will be totally bummed out about it. But, if he still keeps on lying how can he possibly get away with still pretendin. He doesn't want to hurt his feelings, but he doesn't want to hang out with him either i would recommend your brother to tell him the truth. I know he would be embarassed but he could casually said, "hey, I am actually 21 but I do look young, huh?" and laugh so that there won't be any awkward moment. Then your brother could say to the kid, "Hey, I would be busy with school and work so I won't be able to hang out wiht you in the future. But if you have a problem and need some big brother type help, then you know where to call. You are really chill, kid. I am sure you would make great friends once school starts." That way he's offering himself to be an older figure and encouraging him by boosting his self esteem (I am sure this kid is nervous about new school and other classmates) Hope this helps and work out okay AND also hope this kid doesn't turn stalker or something.... Its better if he tells him the truth now otherwise he might think he is being a bit weird lying to a younger guy ,tell him to say I'm 21 I though you were talking about someone Else or you didn't hear me right,I said 21 not 15 kick the lye in the butt now or its going to get Hugh. If I was your brother I would say, The other day when you asked me how old I was, I was thinking of something else when you asked me. Im really 21... Welcome to the neighborhood but we really cant hang out all the time. Im going to be very busy with work or whatever. However if Im outside, feel free to stop by and say hi. Its always nice to have neighbors as long as they are sane no matter how old they are lol... This way he still feels welcome but realizes that your brother isnt going to be his neighborhood pal. |
