To fellow Christians: What's with Christians who don't like to talk about the Lord.? |
Have you ever met any of these. I love to talk about the Lord and the great things he's done. 9 out of 10 Christians I know change the subject when you bring up God in conversation. We're talking about people who go to church, work in programs etc. Not strangers either, people I've worked with or worshiped with. It usually goes like this: Me: Hey, I got an answer to prayer yesterday. God did a really neat thing..... Them: Sure is nice weather we're having. What gives!?!? If you ask them whether they have a relationship with Jesus Christ they will say YES. Now on to a touchy subject: denomination - Most of these people have been Baptist. I actually went to a Baptist bible study once where the Bible was NOT EVEN OPENED! The whole time, the women spoke about their kids, the men spoke about mountain bikes. Anyone else experience this? Yes, and my answer is they truly don't have the Spirit of God in them. Our Spirit recognizes another Spirit. These are the people who have been sitting in the church pews for years with no sign of joy for the Lord. When I got saved the Holy Spirit put in my heart that people including Christians can't even mention Jesus' name. I was telling everybody "Just say His name, tell someone about Jesus. We as Christians are crucifying Him everyday, because we can't even say His name." I appreciate you asking this question, there's a lot of these so called Christians out there. People are afraid of not being PC or offending someone or looking like a religious zealot.. Most people are followers but few are leaders... Chirstians are as afraid of other Christians judgement as non believers are. They are afraid that they will be judged as lesser Christians. I would rather Christians talk about their Lord less in public I mean, not in Church, that's fine that's where you *should* talk about him, but in public please keep it to yourselves. Agree with you but remember what is in the heart will be on there lips. So did they believe in Christ in any case. God is amazing. Jesus saved my life I do love Him. I talk to anyone about the Lord because dulce et decorum est (it's fit and right)...I bring up the Bible as much as possible, I don't want to point out denominations but I agree with you on the Baptist thing...I'm an Apostolic Christian and I don't understand... Unfortunately yes i do know some of these people. I dont know why they act like this. God has done so many amazing things in my life that sometimes i just wanna shout about it. This very week He provided healing for a very persistant infection. Many events in my life are proof that God does exist. I say, next time someone changes the subject, confront them about it, ask them why they change the subject. Make that your mission for the week. I am sorry to say that I once belonged to a bible study group that was like this, it wasnt that we didnt want to open the bible, but we very often got sidetracked with our personal lives. We made many attempts to correct the problem but i havent been in a long time, so i dont know if anything has changed. God Bless. |
