My daughter is 3 1/2 and refuses to learn to do things.? |
She is very smart and can count very high, know her abc's lots of words but she refuses to learn how to go potty, ride her bike, play with her sit and spin etc. I know kids do things in their own time but jeez. What should I do besides wait? She is the only child. Most smart children are very stubborn.My grandson taught himself to read at 4 years of age,but can't tie his shoe at 6. His sister could spell many words at 18 month,but would not potty train. Relax its so normal.Just enjoy them.When she sees you are not going to stress ,then she will change. It's either a matter of motivation or letting her find things on her own. Just make sure she doesn't have fears of phobias about those things, if she does you have to get to the root, otherwise give her some slack. Lead by example, YOU ride a bike and let her watch YOU let her watch you go to the bathroom children dont do certian things until they are five or older. Relax, take a chill pill, dude. I have no idea what a sit and spin is. lol Learning to go potty is pretty major though. When two they should start being trained on that. It's a time consuming lesson sometimes. Depends on the child. They need to be told constantly to go and you have to ask them constantly if they have to. Children have to be taught to recognize when they feel they need to go to the bathroom before they go. Sounds easy enough but keep in mind, children who are not trained are not used to that. It's why when first training, they usually recognize they have to go to the bathroom right before they go. lol Trying buying her real cotton panties(yes, extra laundry) Put plastic on her bed and tell her she needs to use the restroom if she has to go. By the time she's four, she's old enough to know better, and then you need to use discipline. |
