My bike was stolen and I'm pissed! What do I do?

Ok so this isn't really a question but just me venting. Here's what happened. I'm in a play and I stayed after school for practice. When I went out, my bike was missing! I live far from my school and I had to walk home, a 45 minute walk! I had a doctor's appointment at 6 and I was worried I wouldn't get home on time. I did luckily. I doubt I'm ever going to get it back. So I'm just going to let go of this one and get a new bike. My birthday was a few days ago and I wanted a Nintendo DS. My mom can't afford it so she was going to by it for me later. Now I have to wait a while longer for it because my mom has to replace my bike. So yeah I'm still mad, but it's not worth it for me to dwell on it. Why should I let that kid who stole it get the better of me? It's just a bike at least. My sister lost her wallet a couple of times! So I'm just going to get over it and move on.

I had a lock. Someone must of cut it or something or I maybe made a mistake when I locked it. Either way I'm buying a better lock this time.

That reason to get angry, so be mad and get it out of your system. Report it to the police if that might make you feel any better or if you think it'll do any good in getting it back.

The thing that I learned from having stuff stolen is that no possession is worth putting much emotion in. The sentimental ones are about the sentiment, not the thing itself. Everything else is replaceable even if it takes some additional time and work. The big life lesson I got was that it means a life without a real need to own the latest and snazziest gizmo or car or house or whatever that can suck you dry trying to buy and maintain. When you kick the bucket, having the most toys means nothing. LOL, all that life philosophy out of having my bike stolen in seventh grade, some stuff in 10th, and jewelry at 20.

Be pissed and then get over it. There is nothing you ca do about it. Get a better lock and always check to make sure you locked it. So, the Nintendo will be later, it's just the way it is. You're right. Don't let that kid get the better of you.

Sorry about your bike. I hate thieves. It makes me sick when people steal. With the next bike, buy a big chain for it and padlock it up when you leave it!!!

You have a good outlook on it.

it hurts but try to get over it and buy a new one.

Why do you think it was a kid who stole your bike?I hope you learned from your mistake. In the future park your bike where most people cannot see it and where you can if possible and do not place a lock on the wheel but on the frame because the wheel can be easily removed with tools or by hand depending on your model.Do not buy expensive bikes that attract attention because you can attract the unwanted kind of attention that will make you regret it again.
