Why do kids go out to get drunk on spring break when they can get drunk at home?

why do all of these under aged teens have to travel a billion miles just to go do something they already do which is get drunk and get high? if im gonna travel for spring break i want to do something worth my while and that's safe and fun like an amusement park, hang gliding at the beach, surfing, dirt bike racing, bungie jumping, boogie boarding, kite flying, i mean there are so many things to do rather than drink and smoke yourself into oblivion. honestly you can do that at home nobody wants to see you pass out on the beach and vomit your brains out from alcohol or get rushed to the hospital for an overdose. im 19 and that just doesnt seem exciting to me. any explainations?

for the answers ive already gotten. you guys are completely missing the point. it's cool to drink with your friends and such and i understand you dont want to get caught but has it ever occured to you that it's more to life? i go and hang out with my friends and we party and have fun but we do it responsibly. i just find it very alarming when i see one of my colleagues rushed to the hospital for a high blood alcohol level. you can drink but honestly, when is enough enough?

Because most teens think it's "cool" to do that stuff. And they wana be part of the in crowd. And to be honest, I dont like that stuff never have never will. Kids also do it for the feeling of it. Cuz they think getting "high" and drunk is a good feeling to your body when actually it isnt. And they travel thousands of miles so they can do it someplace where they want to, like if you live in ohio you'd prolly wana go to a Beach and do it.

Because on spring break hundreds of teens come together on the beach and night clubs to party together from all across the US. Its ridiculously exciting if you like to party or meet new people

why would they want to get drunk/high at home? thats just stupid, i mean its all stupid to begin with but why would u sit home alone drunk, if ur gonna get drunk then atleast make the best of it and go do something...lol

cause there all stupid, lol i am 18 and i wouldn't go to Mexico to drink on spring break, i might go if i wanted to get arrested and go to a Mexican prison

because it's more fun to be in a different environment?
I think people go out and party for spring break because its whats expected of them.
Its not like one person just comes up with the idea of doing these things during spring break. Teenagers follow everyone else.

most 19 year olds dont think the same way you are. Plus, traveling and then partying is always funner than staying at home. No one wants to be at home for spring break. DUH!

im glad you asked this, and it has a very simple answer.
you see getting drunk isnt the main reason they are heading out to miami, cancoon, etc.
the alchohol just loosens them up so they can party, human biengs are social by nature, and young adults especialy, love to party, and the simple fact for some is going in the hopes that they may get laid.

People like different things. Maybe if you traveled with your friends to other places and got drunk, you would enjoy it.
