PUG DOG ran away..?

yesterday our pug dog ran away. Her collar was off because i was going to give her a bath. When she ran outside, she saw a kid on a bike, and ran to him. The kid ran her over, and being scared, she ran off. Me and several neighbors have looked for her since then, with no luck. I have visited animal shelters, vets, put up flyers, posted an ad in the paper...i dont know what else to do. I've heard dogs sometimes just go off to heal and then come back on their own....How long is this period, usually?

I am so desperate. I need her back so bad...Please someone help. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I gave this same answer yesterday-- Start knocking on doors!!! Someone probably saw your dog and took him in thinking it was a stray. It's theirs if you don't go looking around!!

It sounds like you have done everything right. That's horrible luck I am so sorry!

Signs are the very best option. Pictures on the signs have proven to be much more effective too. Remember that you can stuff mailboxes with those signs too. Keep calling shelters and vets.

If you get your dog back get her micro chiped

did you get your dog chiped...? i'm pretty sure that who ever finds your dog will relize that shes clean and had to come from somewhere...... don't worry you'll find her... i believe it.....

you are doing the right things, i would give it a week and keep a bowl of her food where she usually enters the house. give it time and she could show up!! good luck!!

Keep going door to door, go to the schools nearby and have the principal put over the p/a system, students walking to and from school would notice.
Unfortunately, a cute sweet Pug is what everyone wants (I love them) and I hope someone does not decide to keep her if found.
Also hope she is microchipped or tattooed.
Please also put flyers up at local stores.
Offer large reward, sometimes $ talks to ppl.
I hope you find her.

I'm so sorry - all you can do is what you're already doing. Hand out fliers, go door to door with fliers ... all through your neighborhood and surrounding areas. Call the animal shelter or go there with fliers ... go to your grocery stores and convenience stores ... WalMart or similar and tape up fliers ... put them on cars. I can't think of anything else you can do. You're doing exactly what you need to do. I know it's hard to just wait and wonder and worry.

Our Yorkie took off once and we went door to do with fliers and I mean every door ... even neighborhoods away. We did manage to find him. One of the neighborhood kids took him to another house thinking it was their dog. That neighbor wasn't home, so he just dropped him in their backyard. Anyway - we managed to get him back from one of the neighbors that was looking after their home while they were gone. The neighborhood kid lived in a neighborhood that adjoined ours. We were so happy to find him ... dirty and muddy, but he was back home safe and sound.
