Is it possible I died for few seconds in my sleep?

ok heres what happened...I woke up in the morning and I went back to sleep....it wasnt deep sleep but I was dreaming things then I started of dreaming of me being a happy kid on a bike with kids running with a dog I saw the dog barking then all of a sudden it was like a tv being turned off with something that sounds like a beep in a split second then it got all white, at that point I felt I was aware and scared and I wasn't feeling my heartbeat or any beat at all...at the back of my head i was saying wow did i really die while i was feeling disconnected it was the weirdest thing....again I think i was aware of what was happening and that all happened in a matter of seconds...finally I got up shaken up thinking did i really die for seconds?
does anyone have an explanation

the funny thing...is that i never believed those people who claimed to have had a near death exprience...now i'm one of them and its like to I was thinkign about death recently to dream about it

I believe you were just dreaming. Dreams do not always have a logical explanation, nor are they always well composed, many times they have absolutely no meaning but mumbled information like words that have no connection with each other and can never form a comprehendible sentence.

However, any piece of information can mean several things to several individuals depending on each individual鈥檚 mentality. In your case, you鈥檇 like to believe that you had a near death experience in your sleep.

umm...you probably dreamt that you died.

Sounds like a very scary dream. But make an appointment with your doc and see if sleep apnia"sp?" is a possibility. My father in law has it and I guess it can be scary. Sorry im not better help. But talking to your doc is the best course of aciton.

That's a pretty neat story to tell your friends.(But only if you really did die) I'm not really sure if it's possible to die and then come back to life. Perhaps you fainted? Or maybe you were about to die, and your body changed it's mind. That's kind of scary, coming so close to death. Ok, well i have been no help whatsoever. Good luck with your "death" problem.

Dreams occur when you are in a deep conscious sleep or in REM mode, (rapid eye movement). So if you remember the dream, then you were in a deep sleep. You could have had a dream that you were dying, I have had them myself. I get so scared that my heart sometimes stops and starts again Then I wake up. You also could be slipping in and out of the conscious and deep conscious sleep. Have consider going to a sleep clinic? if not, talk to you doctor,

If you were alone there is no way you died for a few seconds. After death, the body would not spontaneously come back to life. So unless someone revived you, you were never dead in the first place. People who claim to have had near death experiences were all dead and brought back to life by another person, such as a doctor in an emergency room.
