It only has 2,500 miles on it. I checked the battery its a 12v4ah it seems to have plenty of acid. I looked at the air filter the hose going to there seems to be slightly damaged with a hole in it. The electric start won't come around it just makes a click click click noise. My brother was able to kick start it about 7 times however once you got it running. You had to constantly rev it to keep it moving and then it would die if you turnd the lights on or a turn signal or beep the horn. Then it would stall going up hills.
I was given it free as a gift, It was a friends of a friend. They hadn't used it for about 3 months and were moving cross country and didn't want to have the hassle of moving it or selling it. I have no idea where to take it to to get it looked at. The one main store that sells scooters around here only do brands they sell. So if anyone has any idea what's wrong with it let me know and additionally if anyone knows anywhere around Fairfax, Virgina 2 get it looked at Today that hose coming off the air filter is on the ground so the hose from the air filter is broken where does that hose attach too. Like I previously said that hose had a hole in it and was hanging and was not attached on the other end. Does anyone know where I can find that hose and where does the other end go? It has symptoms of a battery that isn't providing enough electrical current to keep the motor running, that's the reason for it shutting down when the lights are on.The most common cause of this is that the battery is worn out,it can only withstand being totally drained a few times before it's damaged beyond repair. It needs to be removed and replaced or at least professionally tested.New batteries can be ordered through most auto parts stores.
The system that charges the battery can also be at fault. That is not likely but happens. Were that the case,it would need expert repair. |
