Are gas scooters banned in california?!?!?

well..i want to pep boys to see if they had gas scooters like this one

and they didn't have it..so i asked the guy if he knew anywhere else i could find some..and he said that they were banned in the state of california. is this true? ..hope not

CA requires combustion engines to pass emissions regulations. Pep boys probably had to quit selling them due to that. Probably find them at a swap meet or such.

One because of emissions, two because the scooters are made in china and not suppose to be here
