What are the best gas mileage / fuel economy trucks , vans , station wagons, cars available in california.

Some diesel vehicle do not seem to be allowed in California for some reason ( small displacement diesel cars , trucks or vans ).

What are the highest gas / fuel milage MPG vehicles available in california.
I am not interested in a new vehicle unless it is by far the highest mpg. I am not interested in safety JUST miles per gallon. And I am not really interested in hybrid.
I really want a used vehicle that gets excelent fuel economy.
