How do i fix my scooter when i put in wrong gas regular in stead of premium?

If your scooter is designed to run on regular unleaded gasoline then it is good to put regular in. The owners manual will state the minimum octane rating that the scooter was designed for. The only reason that the majority of people think that premium fuel is better is because it cost more. The only thing that premium fuel does over regular is prevent detonation better. Every engine compresses the air/fuel mixture prior to igniting it with the spark plug. This compression creates heat. Lower grades of fuel will spontaneously combust at lower temperatures and pressures than higher grades of fuel. When an engine compresses the air/fuel mixture more it creates more power, untill it reaches the point where it ignites before the spark plug fires. This is what is called detonation and it is extremely harsh on the internal components especially the valves and pistons. High octane fuel actually burns relatively slower than lower octane fuel because of the longer hydrocarbon chains which enable it to withstand the greater compression. High octane fuel used in an engine designed for a lower octane rating will result in lower gas mileage and more carbon build up inside the engine than if the specified fuel was used. The bottom line is whatever your engine was designed for should be used. Bigger octane numbers are not always better, but you should never use a lower grade fuel because of detonation.

burn out the crappy gas.

use a syringe to take the old gas out and put premium in

Siphon the old gas out with a syringe or rubber tubing.

That won't screw it up. Just use up that tank of gas and put premium in the next time. It may run a little sluggish through this tank.

lol...it doesnt make any difference.

Pour in a bottle of octane booster. That will save you from having to buy premium gas this time and waste the regular.

Just drain the tank, It won't hurt it to drive a LITTLE. But whatever you do don't drive very much!!!! Don't listen to the idiots on this site who are telling you to wash the tank out with soap and water, NEVER put water in your gas tank!!! I can't believe someone would say that!!!

Hardly matters and unless you have a high performance engine you should be using regular or mid grade anyway.
Using premium fuel on a stock engine is a waste of money.
Just run the thing and about half way down start filling with the flavor of your choice.

don't worry it is not as big a deal as you think. it will not damage any engine part but you may notice a difference in the power you get from the engine. If you wanted to you could even add some octane boost but be care full not to add to much as this product is intended to be added to full tank of a car. read the instructions on the label for help.

dont worry about it.when you burned a bit of it out just go back to premium.youve done no harm

I'm going to assume that by "regular" you mean regular UNleaded, not regular leaded gas (yes it is still available in some rural areas). If I assume correctly, then you really have nothing to worry about. Your scooter will be just fine burning through a tank of 87 or so octane unleaded fuel. I think someone else replied that it might run a little sluggish on this tank, and that's a good possibility. Lower octane fuel is just less volatile than premium fuel, which will burn more easily, more quickly, and cleaner than lower octane gas. If it makes you feel better, after you get through have of this tank, top it off with premium. That will give you a tank of mid-grade. Rinse and repeat (not literally) and your octane levels will slowly climb back to normal with each topping off.

Wash out the tank with a water hose and dish soap(palmolive works well) before putting new gas in it
