Due to the gas prices I have considered getting a scooter. I was wondering who knew the top speed of a 49cc engine and if that is the max CCs for not needing a Motorcycle endorsment. Anyone know the MPG too? Farticus & Seldomseen:

THANK YOU! depends on the state, in new jersey mopeds are 49cc or less. they require a moped license, insurance and plates. the new ones do about 35-40 mph on level road. there are kits to increase cc to between 55-65 cc and with exhaust mods these can reach about 50 mph Some of the scooters get upwards of 80 to 100 mpg. Max speed and fuel economy will all differ by make. |
