I'm purchasing a scooter, any suggestions?

Because of the economy and record high oil company gouging at the gas pumps, added to the fact that I think the Vespa scooter is really kewl and fashionably continental, I am going to purchase a scooter; however, it may not be a Vespa. I've seen others online that look good.
Your advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey, there are a lot of choices out there. If you have the money, it probably is a better idea to go for better quality. And whether people laugh at you, you have to know your own self ! I've got a coworker who owns two Harleys, but he rides a Honda Metropolitan to work 'cause it gets 100 mpg, and he lives in town. Now there's a fellow secure in his manhood ! ( His wife bought it, but then never rode it, so he decided he might as well put it to good use! )

If you think you might ever need to go on a highway, they also make larger scooters that can handle those kinds of speeds. They 'only' get 60-80 mpg. The Suzuki Burgman 600 is an amazing piece of work. It has a trunk large enough for groceries, or two full helmets, and is happy at 70 mph !

Good luck, and have fun !

I'd also recommend taking a Motorcycle Safety Course, just the same. It helps to prepare you for the road, even if you aren't getting a faster scooter.

Don't buy one made in China or you'll be pushing it. Get a Honda or Yamaha...LOL

my advice don't if you worry that much about gas prices get a hybrid or even electric car

do a google search on Go-peds. I have one it goes about 18mi and hour. You can get one with off-road or on road tires. I need one with off-road tires because it is really easy to wreck and would be better if you could drive it in the grass. they are lots of fun.

Don't
people will laugh
you can't get (second) dates with a scooter

your dission is good because the price of fuel is
going up. We need to have vehicles with fuel consumption.

you have got to get a vespa .its cool its not just a scooter its a way of life

I would recomend that you don't purchase a scooter from a websight. Almost all need more assembly then one guy can handle, unless he is a motorcycle mechanic. I own a Wildfire WF150-S I have no problems with this bike. However, I purchased it from a local dealer. He stands by the cycles he sales and is good about repairs. There are many, many different companys importing Chinese cycles. Some are made better then others. Mine is lime green and Harley guys will wave, the superbike guys just ignore you. Girls dig the scooters.
