With gas prices going higher?

As far as around town use only, at what point would you consider to start riding a bicycle or a scooter to work or to school with these gas prices these days?

When I lived in the city I rode my bike every day. It's good exercise and a great to wake you up before work. Gets your adrenaline going.And cheaper on your pocket.

I think most Americans would wait for the $5/gallon barrier.

I have a man servant that speeds me around town in a rickshaw.

what with the hills, and my joints hurting, neither is an option.

in addition, i'm not in favor of old folks taking up scooters.
their (our:) reflexes aren't what they used to be, and such transportation isn't particularly safe to begin with.

Thats kind of impossible here..unless I stayed in midtown

Who says it's impossible to get around Atlanta on a bicycle?

I've been commuting by bike in Atlanta off and on since 1979. My current commute is within Midtown, but several neighbors of mine ride to the train station and take it all over (Delta, Lenox, the Perimeter, Buckhead). It's a great way to get around.
