Why complain about gas prices? |
There are so many varables that determin what you are paying for gas. The car you drive, size of the car, extra driving, etc... Dum du dum dum. Gas is super cheap now even at 3 USD a gallon..Just wait until Peak Oil really sets in and gas is over 10 USD a gallon if even avalible at all "shortages and ratios" If folks complain now they havnt seen nothing yet! Report It Because through our complaints, we can make the public aware of the problem. Politicians respond to outcry by the public and the media, thereby motivating them to solve our problem. When I get bothered by gas prices, I research alternatives, like zero point energy, that will someday replace the Oiligarchy if we can just crack the basic principles involved. When I first starting driving until up to a couple years ago it took me 10 bucks to fill my tank from the 1/4 tank line. I drive a dodge neon and it gets good mileage. I use my car mainly to run errands, go to work and stuff. Now it takes me 20-30 bucks to fill my tank from the same spot. That is double to triple what I was paying before. For people who are living on tight budgets as it is that is a big deal. People have kids they can't take a five year old on a motorcycle. Especially considering that Bush will not dip into our reserves to help American people out like Presidents have done in the past. You're right, and the person who said complaining gets the problem fixed is wrong. A lot of these things you can only change if you have the money to do it. Take Mexicans for instance. My friend is from Mexico and he knows everything about cars. That's because barely anyone there can afford to buy a new car or even afford a car, so they build them themselves from junk yards and what not. I don't complain about gas prices anymore becuz I know they are just going to keep going up and there's nothing I can do to stop them unless I did like the kid in Syriana and ran a torpedo into an oil tanker or something which I have no plans to do. But, I do agree about trying to change the things we can change. Complaining gets us nowhere except more anxiety and wasted energy. Props. It's part of our culture--we complain about violence in movies, yet we continue to go. We complain about porn, yet it is a growing industry. We fuss about food not being healthy enough, yet we continue to buy it. We complain about the price of gas, yet we consume it as if nothing has changed. |
