What cc motor is appropriate for a 15 year old chold weight 135? |
i want to buy him a gas scooter and its tricky because it will say 500cc then 500 cc and 200cc and so on and i just dont know which is the right one the engine size is important, but you want to know what kind of riding he will do, the gearing is all so important also. any good motor cycle shop should guide you through if you ask them the right questions. bigger the better :) 200cc is good enough. 135? is that pounds? err (gets converter out) ah 60kg, yeah 500cc is better The most important thing to ask is how will he use it? The only reason to buy any motorcycle or scooter over 300cc is so that he can drive on the highway. (By the way, cc's stand for cubic centimeters, or the displacement of the cylinders in the engine - basically the size of the motor.) If you live near the beach, and he'll be riding on sand a lot, you might go with a 150-250cc scooter. However, safety is always an issue with any motorcycle, and a bike that size will typically have a max speed of over 45mph. A 50cc scooter is the perfect size for zipping around the neighborhood and eventually campus. One of the most popular models right now is the Honda Ruckus. It's lightweight, and has most of the non-essentials stripped away, so he won't complain about power. It's also very modestly priced at around $2000. The Honda Metropolitan and the Suzuki Vino are also quite popular at 50cc due to their vintage styling. In my opinion, there's very little reason to buy anything larger than these. only this if hes a good ride and short try the tt 80 from yamaha if grest bike with theup grade kit to make the bike biger when hes biger and the power is great too.. |
