Broken wrist =(?

hey i broke my wrist on sunday after a nasty gas scooter front flip fall,i broke my wrist,the dr only ou a splint on,he told me to return ib 5 days when swelling stops,does this mean i am gonna get a cast?my wrist hurts so bad,it didnt break in half but it broke! what do you guys think?

Your doctor knows what he's doing. And yes, you'll probably get a cast, but the pain will be a lot less. If you cast a swollen anything, it swells more and the cast has to be taken off.

i broke my wrist on saturday and he did the same thing to me. he put it in a splint until he swelling went down. And now i have on a cast. I have to have it on from 4-6 weeks. I know how you feel but hang in there and good luck. Report It

sounds like a hairline fracture....

..doc is going to see if the split was able to stabilize the area enough as well as reduce swelling......then he will take a second look to see if a hard cast will be neccessary.

...If you are in extreme discomfort....tell the office.....you are THEIR patient and they should do what makes you feel better.

Yes they need to wait for the swelling to go down before they can put a cast on your arm...if they put a cast on NOW and the swelling goes down while in the cast, the cast would be too loose and you would need a new one

Yes you will get a cast but the doctor is just waiting for the swelling to go down, because if he put it on now the cast would become too loose when the swelling goes down.
