I need help about Emmissions Standards in Calif... 2 Stroke - Euro 2... Anyone know?

I am looking into buying a gas moped scooter... I was wondering is 2 strokes are allowed in Calif. The two I am looking at are 50 cc or 150 cc. The engine is: One cylinder, two stroke, liquid cooled. It has a Mikuni carburator (made in Japan). It's an automatic. Does anyone know if 2 strokes are allowed?

I called the DMV, which told me to call the Bureau of Affairs Dept of Transp, which told me to call some Aerospace nbr and I have yet to receive an answer... If anyone knows, can you tell me? Also, if you need any additional info about the product... Let me know and I'll provide it. Thank you!

I seriously doubt any new 2-smokes are legal in California. California has the strictest emmisions laws in the world. Can't believe they're still even making 2 stroke vehicles!

No new 2 stroke scooters are allowed in California.
You can buy it, just can't register it and you will stuck with a large lawn ornament.

Don't buy a scooter on-line!

Ensure scooter is California Clean Air Resources Board (CARB) approved. Vehicle sticker must stipulate CARB approved or California DMV will not register it.
