Good touring scooters?

I really want a big scooter (yay gas prices!) and I am looking at a couple, but there's not a ton of info on the internet that I can find of actual comparisons or test reviews to determine by. Anybody know of good ones....scooters OR websites where I can find reviews?

I'm in the USA.

Sorry guys, I had originally thought of including what I was looking at. Good show to the guy who pointed out it would be helpful. I have found and am considering;

Honda Silverwing
Suzuki Burgman
Aprilia Something
Vespa Granturismo (sadly small)
Kymco Xciting (really considering this one)

That may be all there actually are.

And to everyone else, I alreay own a GSXR and am just tired of sitting on my jollies all day....gets really old..fast. I can get one of these for half the price, be comfortable, and not have to change gears (have a cramped hand from the clultch).

Thanks to all!

I own a Piaggio X9, there are great scooters. Its a 500cc and very comfy.

Sounds like your asking for opposites or things that don't match. Like a tall miniature. A scooter, no matter how big, is not for touring, unless you are referring to touring around the block. And a touring bike is not a scooter. Even the biggest of bikes get better gas mileage than most any cars on the road today. I personally have a Harley Street Glide, which is considered a touring motorcycle and I get 40 city and 48 highway mpg. On a scooter, you might be able to get 60 mpg, but in an hour or so, you butt would be so sore or numb, that you'd be getting off to get the blood circulating in that area one again.

Try a google search and you will find many scooters. But take it from experience you would rather have a motorcycle instead. I have had both and prefer the motorcycle in fact I get better gas mileage on the motorcycle.

May I recommend you look at the Honda Silverwing? Its probably the biggest (600+ cc) on the market. Still gets great gas mileage. www.honda.com

Edit your question and state which ones you are already looking at.

I own an '06 Suzuki Burgman 650....I have put 3300 miles on her since October, Me and the Mrs. ride 2 up and have a ball!

I also own a new '07 Majesty, Nice bike easy to ride, about 100lbs. or so lighter than the burgman!

For touring the Burgman is the choice espesially 2 up :)

I found the same thing when I went looking for a scooter. I've listed some links below, but...the choice is yous to believe or not.

Now..., How about some hard facts about the Honda Reflex.
I own a Reflex.
I commute 80 miles daily on my Reflex due to the afore mention gas prices.
The Reflex is comfortable on the highway or back roads.
The Reflex has a large under seat storage area and glove box.
The Reflex is a 250cc automatic scooter and can reach speeds of 80mph.
The Reflex if driven conservatively can get 70MPG!

Those are the high points. Now some low points.
The Reflex is a 250cc bike.
The Reflex will never get to 70mph with a passenger on board.
The Reflex is slow accelerating with a passenger and the mileage will drop to about 60mpg if driven conservatively.
There is a lag at about 30-45mph on a stock Reflex and requires mechanical knowledge to fix.
That is about it.

Since I ride alone, I do not have the troubles passengers create. So for me, the Reflex is the perfect bike, but if you are going to carry passengers get a bigger scooter like the Silverwing.
Good Luck and
Ride Safe
