What speed can a basic fold away bike do? |
Obviously based on who is using it!! Folding bikes, with their smaller wheels, have gear ratios designed to offset the inherently slower rolling speed of the small wheels. You can go pretty much as fast on a folder as a mountain bike or hybrid, assuming you stay on road (off road is something of a no-no with a standard folder). So, about 15mph should be sustainable on average for someone not going flat out. Source(s): Pedal faster and go faster... some people really know what they're talking about... Pedal fast and you will go fast. Pedal faster and you will go faster. The limit is on the speed one can pedal and the pressure that one can bring to bear on each rotation. Build up your leg muscles and you will go real fast. as fast as you can pedal Even down hill you are not going to hit 80 mph Depending on the person using it, a kid will most likely do about 5mph on a fold away bike, an average adult would probably go at least 10mph. |
