Does anybody have advice about buying a folding bike? |
I've noticed that prices vary wildly from about $100 to $2500, so I was wondering what features regular users look for in these and any other reccomendations you can offer i.e. good brands, horror stories, etc. Thanks! I read an article about the Strida recently which looked quite novel, might be worth a look at www.strida.com Source(s): magazine article Do it! there arent horror stories...get the Sun Villager model.. It is an inexpensive aluminum folding bike in the 300 dollar range that is quite spectacular...i think its available in a coaster or three speed model. i work for www.americancycle.com we have this model available on our eBay store, just type villager folding in your search or amcycle in advanced search for user name If you look at what people use to take on the trains, the Brompton is by far the most popular. There must be a good reason for that. I have a KHS folding bike that I keep in the trunk of my car so I can ride whenever I can... Not too many horror stories, but you do need to do regular maintenance on it just like any other bike. Good luck and ride safe! i do. don't buy one |
