Is it ever to late for stitches on a cut? I fell off bike injured palms, It has been ten days cut still open.? |
One palm was just skin damage, but the other had a deep puncture in a half circle shape about 1/2 inch deep- down to fatty tissue about 3/4 inch long. It is on the base of my palm where all my folds converge, the cut is currently about a 1/4 inch gap between the two pieces of skin. I have treated it with neosporin and gauze, but I am thinking that it will heal with a gap/scar if I do not bring the two skins together soon. Help please. Thanks. p.s it has been 10 days all surrounding scrapes have healed except the puncture wound. It's late, but still not late to go to a doctor. They may debride the scar tissue and may do a skin graft. Has it not affected the mobility of ur fingers? Yes, it's unlikely that the wound will heal by itself. Bye. TC. you should have sought treatment within 24 hours, there is nothing you can do now but wait for it to heal, and yes, you will have a permanent scar. RN Why didn't YOU bring the sides of the cut together? Now, you would have to go to the doctor. If they can--they will have to clean it out and close it properly. That means they will have to pull the sides further apart, then close it. It's been way too long for you to try and close it yourself. Yes, you will have a permanent scar. Next time you get a cut like that, go to the doctor, ER, urgent care and have it taken care of within 24 hours. Or at LEAST go buy some "butterfly" bandages. You can get them at any drug store where they sell bandaids. FDA researcher You should still see a doctor to check for infection. You may also need a tetanus shot. if it has started to heel then yes but if you think it hasn't i would go see a doctor and ask maybe that oppition is still open |
