Cardio obsessed - need to gain muscle?

I want to gain about 5-7kgs of muscle, mostly in my upper body region but legs are okay.

I have a small frame, fast metabolism and know how to eat to gain muscle.

My problem is two fold. Firstly, I do a lot of cardio - I ride my bike to and from work everyday which amounts to about one hour of cardio. I have kickboxing two nights a week which I'm not going to give up. Then there's touch football on another night (about 40 mins running, plus 1 hour cycling there and back).

The second problem is that I only have really small weights (max 10kg per dumbell).

I don't want to go out and buy weights, I'd rather do bodyweight stuff, but kickboxing has given me great muscle "endurance" so I get more puffed from push-ups than sore muscles.

What's the best way to gain upper-body muscle in my situation? Will doing bodyweight stuff work? Or doing 30+ reps with my dumbells?

I just don't want to waste my time doing exercises that will ultimately burn more energy than actually creating muscle.

increase your daily calorie intake
add pull ups and push ups to your workout
keep up the dumbell reps high but try to add a little more weight to them
good luck
If you want to build muscle do less cardio and do more weight training. Cardio is good for fat loss and weight training is good for gaining muscle. Read more at http://www.gainingweight.info/
