Is it true that.....? |
a cylinder of nitrous oxide attached to the engine of the bike boosts its speed many folds...? if yes...explain the mechanism Nitrous oxide is an oxidizer. The amount of power an engine can put out is limited by the amount of oxygen you can get into the engine. If you just put more fuel in, it will not burn completely. If you increase the oxygen, then you can add more fuel for more power. Turbochargers increase the oxygen in the cylinder by increasing the pressure of the incoming air. Nitrous oxide works by releasing oxygen inside the cylinder. It probnably won't boost it "many fold" but a 100%-300% increase in horsepower for several seconds is possible. Just remember that you will be running the engine with much more power than what it was designed for. The engine can literally shake itself apart. There are always many theoritical concepts, this too is one of them, what is important is that it should be safe and effective practicallly The gentleman before me has given a nice answer and i do not want to add anything in that but be sure before using it in terms of safety |
