How good is riding a bike for weight loss, health, etc?? |
i've been wanting to start running for a while to get fit... im 5'10 and i weigh about 165-170lbs... im 21 and beer kind of gave me a belly i am determined to lose. so i know, no more drinking and more exercise. the thing is i don't know what kind of exercises or how much or when i should be doing 'em... i recently donated my car and got a bike... which i think is in the right direction to getting started wit my fitness... but HOW good is a bike at getting someone fit???? It's awesome! It gives you a total body workout. Since the belly is a target area for you keep your abs sucked in while riding for a burning ab workout while riding! I've seen some amazing changes in people that rode bikes to get in shape. One guy got so thin, I had a hard time recognizing him. I noticed he's a lot more popular with the women too. For me it was running where I lost majority of my weight, but my body took a beating. I tried cycling and loved it, once I got used to the saddle. If you do long rides, take the extra time and money to get a proper fit on your bike, wear gloves and a helmet. It may look dorky, but if you ever see someone crash you'll think twice about not wearing one.
