Do you think the Trek Navigator 3.0 would be a decent bike?

For exercise and loafing around the park on?http://www2.trekbikes.com/bikes/bike.php...

The Trek Navigator 3.0 is a good comfort bike. I picture it as a good bike for long paved bike paths through parks. It could also handle some fairly smooth dirt paths.

My wife has a Mens Trek Navigator 200 from 2005, which is the same as the 2.0. I've taken it around the block a few times and it is a good bike. The bike is not as nimble as my mountain bike, but it has that "laid back" feel where it is very comfortable and smooth. We have taken it on dirt paths and it has held up fine.

The shifting is solid and the gearing is decent. I'd recommend it.
do u??
i've always heard good things about treks
I'm an avid rider and I appreciate a quality bicycle and this is a purely recreational bicycle with mostly entry to mid level components. But because it is a Trek it's certainly a quality built bicycle that will serve you well.

However, if you plan to be an avid rider and would like to have a bicycle with a little better performance but still at a reasonable price look at the Trek 7.3 FX. The 7.3 is offered in several more sizes to fit you better, is lighter and has better components. The better fit of the bike to your body will enhance your enjoyment of riding and improve the bikes ability to be a better tool for exercise.
If all you want the bike for is riding around town and tackling some mild trails once in a while then this is a great bike. I had a Navigator 2.0 and liked it a lot, but it was a bit too heavy and slow for me. I traded it back in for a Trek SU200 which I love...a lot lighter and more nimble. That being said, the Navigator is great for what it is...a comfort bike. The heavier frame and front shocks help to smooth out any bumpy roads and you sit in a more upright position. It is a quality bike.
Hey Brandon-

The Navigator 3.0 is good for toolin' around the park! It has suspension on the seat and the fork for a comfy, non-strenuous ride or exercise. The components are good names, I don't personally know about your derailleur model but the company is a quality make and will serve you well. Shimano, bontraeger and trek are all very good makes of bikes and components. If you're looking to get more exercise I would go with either a hybrid or mountain bike or road bike. I started out on a mountain bike. The navigator is more for leisure and going to get a cup of coffee.
