Recently, everytime i'm at the gym, I'm getting worn out and dizzy after around 5-8 minutes on the bike or the cross trainer, with water breaks and sit outs for at least 10 minutes. I'm usually very fit and can go for alot longer than that, I play basketball and football so I need to be back to my usual exercise instead of 45 minutes out of 2 hours visit. Any ideas on how to exercise with anemia?
if you were diagnosed by a dr. with anemia, then he/she should have determined what type of anemia you have and the best treatment for it. as the treatment takes effect, your strength and endurance should start to return to where they were and your dr. should be able to give you an estimate of how long it will take. if you're guessing that you're anemic, then i suggest you be careful. don't assume that you need to change your diet or take iron supplements because even if your guess is correct, there are many types of anemia and not every type can be treated with extra iron. if you're not sure what your situation is, you should visit a dr. as soon as possible. dizziness after 5 min of exercise sounds somewhat serious, especially if you're normally able to handle that type of exercise. good luck. |
