I need surgestions for my diet and exercise plan (For teen girl)?



I am 17, 5ft 2in and 140lbs. I want just want to slim down, not gain muscle. I would like to slim down in about 8 weeks for a show I have. I enjoy cardio. activities like the ski machine, the bike and running. I am worried that it will just tone my legs and not help slim all over. What are some tips for exercise and diet that will work for my age and targeted goal? - I have a membership to the gym.

Cardio, especially running and swimming, tones the entire body. Exercise 3 days a week for a decent amount of time - a trainer at the gym can help you with a program if you wanted.

Eat healthy when you are hungry (but never skip a meal, especially breakfast). If you can, eat 5-6 small meals a day. Only eat until satisfied. Drink plenty of water, it will help with hunger and exercising.

Any exercise will gain muscle, and muscle weights more than fat. However, toning will help you feel (and look) your best. To help tone, you can do weight training, do light weights for 15-20 reps (this will not make you bulk up, but tone the muscles for endurance and strength) - this is something you can also ask a trainer at the gym about.

PS2 - Dance Factory - it is an absolute blast. With this particular program, you can put any CD you want in and it will create a dance for the songs you select. Also, there are a lot of settings, but the best one for weight loss is the calorie counter. You enter your weight and it shows you how many calories you burn. The game and the dance pad will cost your approx. $60 or less if you shop around or find it on sale. Also, beef up the fiber in your diet - fiber will counter-act fat to a degree. Whole grain items, etc (to be higher in fiber it must say WHOLE grain, not multi-grain). There are safe supplements at the drugstore called fiber choice - they don't taste bad at all. And, increase your consumption of water (permanently).

My guaranteed 鈥渓ose 15 lb in 5 weeks鈥?VEGETARIAN diet: If you can commit to a vegetarian diet, this diet is for you: it is very easy to follow since it requires little to no cooking or preparation; no weighing, and no measuring really. All you have to do is get the food from the grocery store and eat, and I swear the weight will literally melt off of you.

Breakfast:
-Quaker single serving oatmeal packet (Cinnamon Roll is very tasty)
-Dannon Light and Fit yogurt (single serving)
-8oz glass/bottle of water

Snack:
-Breakstone鈥檚 fat free single serving cottage cheese (the cottage cheese is very important since it provides a great amount of protein)
-Handful of Wheat Thins or something similar
-8oz glass/bottle of water

Lunch:
-Large iceberg/romaine mix salad with 4 tbsp. of light dressing (no more than 20 cal/serving)
-Dannon Light and Fit yogurt (single serving)
-Piece of fruit (orange, apple, etc.)
-or 5 spears of asparagus (to prepare asparagus, just put 5 spears in a microwaveable container and either put water or balsamic vinaigrette filled half-way, then microwave until tender)
-or a small bowl of rasberries/grapes
-or a 陆 of a small whole wheat pita topped with 1 half slice reduced fat mozzarella cheese and sliced peppers (or other such veggie)
-8oz glass/bottle of water

Snack:
-Breakstone鈥檚 fat free single serving cottage cheese
-Handful of Wheat Thins or something similar
-8oz glass/bottle of water

Dinner:
-Try a Boca meal or something similar (no more than 250 cal, but don鈥檛 cheat and eat meat or refined carbs!!!)
-Dannon Light and Fit yogurt
-8oz glass/bottle of water

-Your caloric intake should NOT exceed 1100 calories per day
-NO SODAS! NOT EVEN DIET SODAS! ONLY WATER!

-In addition, you should walk briskly or jog EVERY day for at least a half an hour
-Or if you don鈥檛 have a treadmill or don鈥檛 want to go outside, then combine running in place, jumping jacks, lunges, and jump-ups for a half an hour.
-Then do 3 reps of 15 crunches, and 3 reps of 15 obliques, 3 reps of 15 lunges, 3 reps of 15 proper push-ups.

I swear to you, this will work as long as you DON鈥橳 CHEAT!!! It might seem sort of hard the first couple of days, but it will get easier every day, and you won鈥檛 be hungry!!! JUST WATCH THE WEIGHT MELT OFF!! In the first week you should see a considerable difference.
