Should I wear a knee support when exercising? |
I seem to suffer with my knees the day after i've done a few miles on my exercise bike and crosstrainer...would a knee support help? Any warm up techniques or advice? I do the above as it's less impact on my joints First, evaluate or check your knee rotation and range mvement. If you dont feel normal. you have to correct it first by some proper stretching and strenghthening technique ( go to yoga /pilates class). Especially if you really like biking and sort of aerobic activity, you should have a good knee joints : strong but flexible, And also knowing its function to your legs and body and which movement affect its health ( all can be learned with a competent trainer). Biking and cross training have less impact rather than running, but it doesnt mean that every one has used their joints ( ankles, knee and hips joints) properly while moving on those stations. Then, if you like doing training in long haul , recognize more your body when it is in emergency situation or not. And right after the training , check it. Always finished every hard training session with a good and intense stretch to avoid future injury. My conclution: get some rest, analysed your knee situation and consult to a competent trainer about some legs excercise to correct it. your legs needed to be strengthen and flexibilize only. Cheers. if u need to support it D O N T exercise wait till its healed maybe you should just stop complaining i think you should stop doing ridiculous amounts of exercise and put your stamina to better use! ;) |
