Why why why .... ok i started working out and drinking water on the 13th and on the 20th i weighed 2lbs less.. |
but today when i weighed myself i was back to were i started.... i started with riding an exercise bike for 20 mins now up to 30 mins and i do gazle air walker for 45 mins on the oppisite days and i use one of the exercise balls and i drink only water and i am not eating junk food. this really makes me mad. i need to lose 60lbs and all my life when ever i exercised i never lost weight. i had a gym member ship for a year and i lost maybe a pound or two and my bf who went at the same time and did the same things as i except on the circut he used more weights lost like 30lbs i just dont get it what the heck do i have to do to start losing weight First off Weigh your self in the morning right after going to the restroom (you have no water or food weight and that is the closest to a true weight you will get) only weight yourself once a week (Monday morning) and remember the healthiest weight loss is VERY slow going I believe like 2 pounds a month. Ups and downs happen, especially while your body is turning fat into muscle. Also are you already in your target range. Some people try to get smaller then they actually can and this is RELAY unhealthy. You say your exercising, well are you using any resistance. Going at a nice slow pace won't lose any weight you have to get into the "burning" zone before anything will happen. I walk a mile a day and know I'm not going to lose any weight this way, why I take a nice Lesly stroll on my way to work. Now if I was to take and walk the same mile in lets Say 1/2 to 3/4 of the time I do now, I would expect to see a marked difference. The other option (if you can) is get with an exercise consultant and see if they are able to help you come up with a routine and diet plan that will help you meet your realistic goals. What does your diet look like?? your losing fat and gainig muscle, keep doing what your doing. make sure your eating regularly and that you burn more calories than you eat. as time goes on the weight scale may not change much. but thats because you gained all new muscle. you will feel the difference, instead of a weight scale use your clothes to see the difference. slowly but surely you will notice how much fat you have lost. KEEP WORKING OUT! If you are eating well and exercising you may have lost fat but gained muscle. Weight alone, expecially over a brief period of time, is not a good indication of progress for this reason. I prefer to measure total % body fat becuase it accounts for muscle growth. To lose weight the following simple rule applies: If the energy in (the food you eat) exceeds your daily energy burn (the total energy you use during exercise, and at rest) then you will gain weight. The inverse is also proven. To lose weight you must consume fewer calories than you burn. The problem with calculating calories is that you actually burn a whole lot more during rest over the period of a day than you do doing an hour of vigourous exercise... as much as three times more. So you need a good way of estimating the calorie burn... for example.. check this out.... http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calcul... To me, it sounds like you're working out so much that you're gaining a lot of muscle mass...and muscle weighs more than fat! I think you should get your body fat percentage tested. This gives you a measure of how much of your body is fat, and you can get a better idea of your target weight from there. It's great that you're drinking water and not eating junk food! Keep it up, and along with that, make sure to eat a balanced diet with lots of fruits and veggies, and not too many carbs etc. |
