I have full gym with weights to use, just don't know how to use them!?



I live in an apartment complex and we have a full gym with weights (both free weights and weight machines). Of course I know how to walk on a treadmill, or do the exercise bike. I don't know how to lift weights or get the best benefit of them. (I am going to need upper body strength for the police obsticle course in the near future. I have to hoist myself over a 5' wall, and I'm only 5'1"!) Any help would be apperciated and please use as much detail as possible. (i.e.: use free weights do 5 curls of arms 5X's per arms. Or something similar.) Also I am open to exerice routines or exercises not including weights.

Do you know anyone that could work out with you? Go to the gym while someone else is there. Some people are more then happy to help others. Buy a magazine or book.

Go to a gym in your area. Some gyms have where you can try out the gym for a week. They will show you have to use the equipment.
go down to the gym some one should be willing to help you out.. If you are still in school ask your gym teacher to teach you how to use them correctly..
I could go into detail but you could get injured bad if you dont lift them correctly..
