What do I do while my tailbone is injured? |
I injured my tailbone at a New Year's party. I had an x-ray done today and it's not broken but the doc says it will take weeks to heal. I had only just recovered from a broken toe and had gotten back on the track team but now I'm out again. We only have 3 more meets left and I want to run at least once this season. And even if I don't run in the meets, I would like to keep in shape, although my injury limits the types of exercise I can do. Can't do... -running -exercise bike -lower body weight lifting -jumping Suggestions? follow the doctors instructions...they know whats better for your body and what the outcome will be if you do these exercises Trust me, I have worked with a similar case (but with a hockey player). What you must do is stay on bed for most of your day. Try small moderate physical exercises in the beginning, and you may gradually increase the length and intensity of your work out. Take warm bathes, as this may help the restructuring of the bones. Take a high calcium/ magnesium/ iron diet, as this may accelerate the repairing of broken bones. Most of all, keep in mind that your health must always come first. I am a doctor myself. Walking |
