I have some problems with my health.? |
O.K., slightly overweight, not drastically, but I would love to lose thirty pounds before the end of summer. I would like to join the basketball team, but I am way too slow and need to become fitter. Con to my plan is that I cannot go to a gym, and I only have an exercise bike and an exercise ball. However, I am trying to get a treadmill. Is thirty pounds before the end of summer too ambitious, or is it just right? Instead of a treadmill, I got a better idea. Take your runs outside. Do intervals of sprints/jogs. Short, intense cardio is the best way to burn fat YET not break down too much muscle in the process. And then, instead of spending $$ on a treadmill, get a set of weights and take out some weight training. All ya need are maybe a few good weights and then set up a training schedule. Muscle Exercises http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercise... Why? Because the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn on a regular basis. So building muscle will help you burn more fat. And, if you do your weight sessions promptly (and don't slug around too much), it'll get your heart rate up and pumping and burning a lot of calories DURING the weight lifting session. Also maybe looking into a boxing workout schedule and exercises.. boxers are always trying to gain speed, so maybe it could help you get lighter on your feet. In 3 months, I bet you could lose the 30 pounds.. especially since you are a guy and guys have it easier at losing weight.. lol ;P good luck ***Giving up everything is not the answer. Plain oatmeal is chock full of protein and fiber and great as a breakfast. And even stick figured people can eat ice cream once in a while. Sweet potatos are actually BETTER for you than white potatos and help balance your sugar levels. The key is not giving up everything. If you give up everything, you'll eventually break down and eat anything. You need to give yourself moderation and train your mind and body a healthier way to eat. It is definitely ambitious, but if you're driven enough, I think you can do it. An exercise bike will definitely help you burn calories and build muscle, so don't worry about that aspect so much. I'd focus more on what you're eating. Since you'll probably be working out a lot, your body needs protein to build muscle, so aim for high protein, low calorie foods. Also, start playing basketball with a medicine ball (wasn't sure if that's what you meant by "exercise ball" or not), it'll help build muscle and will also improve your passes. Best of luck! You forgot to mention your health problems in your question. Without knowing what your health problems are, nobody can give you exercise advice. That would be very dangerous. too ambitious, sorry. plan for 30 lb over next year. next June 1st, you should be a happy healthy 30 lb lighter person. ANY earlier is not good for your health. please do the weight watchers and exercize in moderation. give up ALL pasta and ALL bread, potatoes. leave oatmeal, rice. NO cereals. NO ice cream, i mean it. NO candy. lots of eggs and fish and meat - in other words Atkins! you will lose 50 not 30 - BUT - give yourself a year. Well looks like you want the truth...you can still go for your goal but i doubt you will loose 30 pounds take it slow for a while and then hopefully you will get down to the size you feel comfortable in...im sure you fine the way you are. Well its mostly up to you i would go out for it if its the thing you love. Good Luck...ohh yeah and i dont think you should waste your money on a tredmill thingy just run outside arpund the block everyday. Hope it helps. |
