Why cant i lose any weight on the Atkins diet??



I weigh 120 kg and have been following the atkins diet, no more that 20 net carbs a day for 1 month and 2 weeks now and have not lost any weight iv been walking 50 minutes a day or doing exercise bike for 40 minutes a day. I may have trouble sweating as considering my weight I dont drop a bead of sweat hardly ever. Also i get cold easy.
I make sure to never eat enough to be stuffed and I have not cheater not even once. Also I cook healthy. Breakfast is a protein shake half strength, dinner and lunch is salad and a piece of meat or chicken grilled, no skin.
I have 1 coffee and or tea a day with sugarine. No sugar no sweets no chocolate no chips!! why should i bother if its not working even with exercising?

All of the things you are experiencing indicate you may have a problem with your metabolism, and it most likely is due to an under active thyroid. The "no sweating" and tendancy to be cold are classic indicators, and along with what you are eating I would say you have a classic case of it. I bet you run a low body temp too...

Its easy enough to find out if this is the problem. Have your doctor run a T-3 and T-4 blood test. It will be obvious from the result and if I am right, your doctor can give you medications that will improve the function of your thyroid to boost your metabolism. if you're on the atkins diet, then.. um... i pretty much know your'e eating too much fat and that's why you're not losing anything.
You've been on Atkins for ONE MONTH and TWO WEEKS and you haven't lost any weight?? Go and see a doctor immediately! I'm very bothered by the fact you're following the diet AND excercising as much as you do and not losing any weight! Typically, individuals lose quite a bit the first two weeks and you've been doing it longer.

Seek medical advice at once, 'kay?
Most fad diets never work and if they do, the loss is only temporary, and later you tend to gain more weight back. Talk to your physician to get you on a normal diet, and keep up with the exercising

You're not supposed to drink coffee or tea on Atkins (the caffeine makes your insulin spike just like fruit does), but I doubt that's why it isn't working. Only some body types respond to low-carb diets, and I'm guessing yours just isn't one of them.

Another problem might be that you're getting too few calories. Your meals don't sound terribly calorie-heavy; even on Atkins, you have to make sure that your body is getting a reasonable amount of calories, otherwise it's no different than a starvation diet. If you're getting around 1000-1200 a day (1200-1400 for a man), your body might have gone into starvation mode (if you're getting less than that, it almost definetely has) and nothing short of total food deprivation will make your body let go of fat when it's in starvation mode.

If bumping up your food intake and starting light muscle training doesn't help, you'll want to ask a doctor. You could have something medically wrong, or it could just be that your body hates you.
