Pregnant with a gym membership....?



have not been in about two months but are thinking of returning tonight for some gental exercise on the bike and treadmill. getting aches and pains....26 weeks pregnant and feel like a good work out within reason is needed. any advice?

Talk to your doctor first, and explain what you plan to do. He/she will be able to tell you if that is the best course of action to take at this stage in your pregnancy, or he may be able to offer alternate types of exercise that will be safe for you and your baby.
Just don't over do it your body will tell you when to stop
bring plenty of water and try not to get carried away.
Can't you get advice from the gym monitor for a gentle workout?
Dont' bother about exercise at this stage of pregnacny. It will do more harm than good. Instead you can go the office regularlya and do your work without any hindrance if you are employed. If you are house wife, you can do all daliy home activities like food preparation,wahing your clothes,house cleaning ete. as if you were doing before.
You can think of exercise after delivery to strengthen your abdomen muscles and perineal muscles taking advice from the doctor.

Uninhibited daily routine activities are enough at this statge. Have healthy food, sleep for one hour after lunch,have happy and joyful moments with family members.
swimming is good. try to take it easy, remember if you are getting out of breath, this is reducing amount of oxygen getting to your baby.
Try gentle cycling, walking on the treadmill. NO WEIGHTS!!!
