Losing weight is hard on the knees?

I've got fibromyalgia and most forms of aerobic exercise, including the elliptical, bikes, stair steppers, and even the treadmill cause great pain and awful noises in my knees. Swimming is not a viable option for several reasons.

Any suggestions on aerobic exercises I can do without killing my knees? Thanks.

You can still do low impact aerobics. Do a search on amazon for some videos. The point is you have to get moving and get your heart rate up. You can do a lot of this with just your upper body or even just moving side to side (like step side to side).
How about kayaking, or lifting weights.
Could you try deep water jogging? You strap on an aquatic belt to your waist, get into deep(er) water, and basically walk. It's easier on your legs, and it isn't swimming since you don't even have to KNOW how to swim to stay afloat.
it's not LOSING it that's killing you. It's the weight you still have. Try mat exercises to start out.
There is a type of "bike" at the gym where you use your arms to pedal, not your legs.

Walking would be a viable option also.
try yoga its less stressful. read tips on weight loss and yoga routines on this site
