I have a severe, chronic knee pain, and right now, I can barely walk, but I need to start exercising to stay in shape. I was wondering if you could tell me some upper body exercises that I can do to keep in shape. Does anyone know a fun upperbody workout video I could do, without working my lower body? I know I found Yoga for Chronic Pain, but is their any exercise ones?
I do the "arm bike" at physical therapy, so anything else I can add would be great.
One of the best things for exercise for people with chronic knee pain is a water based aerobics class...it involves a whole body workout with little impact on the knees. Many people with degenerative joint disease of the knee can exercise pain free in a supervised water aerobics class.
Find a program endorsed the the arthritis foundation...the pool is too be heated to a certain degree to lessen the pain and there is usually a handicapped entrance into the pool.
