What do you guys do to lose weight and get in shape? |
I'm 5'5 and 135 lbs. I know i'm not fat and this weight is just on the high side of the BMI scale, but still normal for my height. ANYWAY. i'm really wanting to get in shape. I've been doing some sit ups in the evenings and today i will start running and/or biking after work. What exercise routines have worked for you? I want to lose weight AND tone up my abs, thighs and lower legs. Oh, also, i've been drinking a lot of water here lately, do you think that will help?? This is what I am doing to lose weight. It is working pretty well for me so far. Plan some sort of trip or goal you want to work towards. For me it was a beach trip, when I knew I would have to be in public in a bathing suit. That was enough for me to get off the couch and get moving. Get a calorie-counter. You can do a web search for calorie counting programs to find free ones. Then calculate how many calories you need per day to get to your goal weight and stay as close to that limit as you can. For me, seeing how many calories I was eating per day was really educational. That super value combo I got from McDonald's for lunch was my entire calorie allowance for a day. Yikes. It really made me accountable for what I was eating. Get moving! I know it is hard to get started, believe me, I know! But once you get into a routine, you really look forward to exercising because it makes you feel great! On days I couldn't exercise, I really missed it! I do about an hour of cardio a day after work. Be realistic, you are not going to drop all of the weight in a month. I wish someone told me that when I first started working out and eating right. I wanted to give up when the stupid scale wouldn't move. But be patient and don't give up. The weight WILL come off. You just have to give it time. And don't weigh yourself every day, you will only get frustrated. Weigh once a week. Hope these tricks work for you. They.................Get a job instead of sitting around on their @rse tapping on the keyboard asking questions on answers.yahoo.com eating fast food... what you're doing is a great start. another thing you should consider is to cut out all fast food (even starbucks) because they all have much too many calories. eat healthier and keep doing aerobic activities, and you will definately lose weight. The water will most certainly help. I have done that before too. Also, you should try not eating fast food and when you do it out do go to all-you-can-eat places. Try to cut back on you food intake. Like dont swamp you plate down with food at lunch time and then skip supper. Just dont eat so much. Also, try to eat slower, you get full faster. Cardio is the best way to lose weight. Just run every day. Also, sign up at your local gym for abs and glutes classes. It tones really nicely. You might even want a personal trainer if you have to money. |
