I gained 8 pounds on the Holidays, what can I do? |
I鈥檓 usually in good shape. I don鈥檛 diet, I just exercise a lot. I usually ride my bike 5 miles daily, but it鈥檚 too cold right now. I usually go jogging, but it鈥檚 too cold right now. I usually swim laps and swim 4 km when I go to the pool, but it鈥檚 too cold right now. The gym is warm, but I don鈥檛 go to gyms because I don鈥檛 lift weights, and that doesn鈥檛 help losing weight anyways. The treadmills really hurt my knees. It was freezing last month, and it seems like this one will be too. I just can鈥檛 do the exercises I know to do and love. The problem is I exercise too much throughout the year, now that it鈥檚 cold and I can鈥檛, my body just blew up. I probably won鈥檛 be able to do anything for another month. What can I do in the meantime? If you like to ride a bike so much, get a stationary bike; put it in front of the TV and ride away. if you have that much of a problem getting around your all done.eat a big meal and worry about your mind instead. Go to the mall and walk. A lot of folks use the mall to get their exercise in the winter months. They do several laps around the mall. Some of the malls in the northern states open early for the walkers to get their exercise in. Do you have stairs in your house? Try doing several laps up and down the stairs everyday. Also, throw out all the holiday left-overs, start eating a low fat, low carb. diet, this will help when you are able to get back out and able to do other things. In the meantime, best of luck and keep in mind winter won't last forever - in another couple of months hopefully where you live winter will be giving way to spring. |
